Betty Bronson (nee Chapin), age 91 of Byron Center, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 18, 2021 where she was reunited with Robert, her husband of 69 years. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Luanne; grandson, Nick; brothers Richard, Chet, Larry, Ron, and Russell; sister, Barbara Sexton; and brother-in-law, Carroll Sexton.
She will be lovingly missed by her children Michael (Carol) Bronson, Sue Bronson, Linda Stauffer, Paul (Peggy) Bronson; grandchildren Jeremy, Angela (Mike), Jennifer, Jeff (Dana), Andrew (Ashlee), Jake (Elizabeth), Caitlyn; great-grandchildren Anthony, Skyler, Aleeyah, Elia, Brady, Isaiah, Izabell, Emma, Evan, Kaydin, Jagger, Alivia, Elena, Graham, and Stella; sister, Ruth (Marvin) Gage; sisters-in-law Karen Hale and Betty Chapin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of anyone she met. She was an excellent bowler earlier in her life, loved to crochet, play cribbage, do jigsaw puzzles, and spend time with Robert at their trailer in Sandy Pines Resort for many years. She was also a dedicated blood donor who donated a total of four gallons, until she had to stop due to a diagnosis of leukemia in 1992. Betty started her work career at Kroger, where she met Robert, the love of her life. She continued her bakery career at Oven Fresh and then moved on to a new field at Travelers Insurance Company where she worked with several family members - from which she retired in 1991. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Joan, Marisa, Julie, Ashlee, and Jan, who tenderly cared for her at home while she struggled with dementia.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Cook Funeral Home - Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at Cook Funeral Home - Byron Center Chapel. In memory of Betty and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Chapter.
