Ruby Lindley Ligon, age 87, passed away on January 6, 2023, at The Springs Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Cedar Park. Ruby was born January 22, 1935 to Sherman and Lily Canup Lindley in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ruby grew up in Corpus Christi and married Captain William (Bill) Carlos Ligon on November 10, 1950. Their first date was at the original Whataburger in Corpus Christi. They built and managed Council Creek Lodge on Lake Buchanan in the 1960’s and returned to the Corpus Christi area in 1973. Bill preceded Ruby in death in 1985 after 35 years of marriage. Ruby has been a faithful member of the Church of Christ since 1957.
Ruby especially enjoyed being with her family. Her greatest joy in life came from service to and support of others. Her life‘s passion was being a homemaker and her loving heart will always be remembered with thanksgiving by all. She is survived by her three children, Carlos Wayne Ligon and wife Debra, William Mark Ligon and wife Shirley, Cindy Ligon Barker and husband Daryl.
She cherished her six grandchildren, Kristy Ligon Wright and husband Walter, Amy Barker Sherman and husband Zach, Vickie Barker Hart, Ben Ligon, Johnnie Norris, along with her six great grandchildren, Carson and Camryn Wright; Jane, Calvin, and Lucy Sherman; and Lennon Hart.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and siblings and also by her grandson, Tavan Ligon.
