Ray Vasquez, age 69, of Kingsland, Texas passed away on July 16, 2014. He was born in Bertram, Texas on March 23, 1945 the son of John Rufus Vasquez, Sr. and Julia Montemayor. Ray enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He loved listening to his old music and enjoyed his red mustang.
Ray is survived by his wife Mercedes Vasquez of Kingsland, Texas, Susan and Todd Locke daughter and son-in-law of Atlanta; Favian and Stephanie Vasquez son and daughter-in-law of Mesquite, Texas; Roberta and Felix Morua daughter and son-in-law of Lampasas, Texas; Pat and George Preston step daughter and husband of Kingsland, Texas; Antonia and Manuel Centeno sister and husband of Austin, Texas; Lupe Chavez sister of Austin, Texas; Herlinda and Peter Duran sister and husband of Austin, Texas; Eugene Vasquez of Bastrop, Texas, Tom Cantu brother of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous grand and great grand children. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Manuel, Rufus, Julian, Gilbert, Kelly, Bobby, Fred and Mike. Sisters Virginia and Rosa.
Rosary will be on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Burnet, Texas. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Our Mother of Sorrow Catholic Church in Burnet, Texas. Burial will be at the Strickling Cemetery.
