She is reunited in peace with her husband of 63 years Eugene (Blue Gene) Hernandez deceased February 20, 2022. Mary was predeceased by her parents Margarito and Rosa Herrera, siblings JR, Jerry, and Gloria.
Surviving siblings, Janie (Cante) Nanyes, Rego Herrera, Gennave (Veva) Hernandez, Rick Herrera, Beal Doblado, Michael Herrera, and Sarah Cruz.
Mary will be sadly missed by her entire family, friends, and community.
Devoted, loving mother and grandmother. Her 7 children, Robert, Thomas, Jeffrey, Josef, Jean, Dominic, and Leo, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, were her pride and joy, she loved and supported them until the end. She spent most of her life dedicated to helping as a nurse for 30 years, devout catholic dedicating her time volunteering at the catholic thrift store and eucharistic minister providing communion to the sick/elderly.
She loved to go garage sales, arts and crafts, and flea markets. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and made some of the best hot sauce, enchiladas, tortillas, and tamales. She especially enjoyed preparing her grandchildren their favorites bean and cheese tacos, and carnitas. She loved the color red and favorite flower was the rose.

A rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 9 at 7pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home at 306 East Polk St. Burnet TX and a celebration of life mass will be held on Monday, October 10 at 10am at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, at 507 Buchanan Dr., Burnet TX 78611. Burial will be held at Post Mountain Cemetery. A reception to follow at Parish Hall.
