Doyal Spence

Doyal Vincent Spence, 89, passed away on February 24, 2022 in Bertram, Texas.

Doyal was born in Marietta, Oklahoma to Tom and Elsie Spence on October 15, 1932. He attended Weatherford Oklahoma High School. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Doyal was married to Martha Anthony. They had one son Roger Spence. Doyal served churches in Lenoir City, TN., Tulsa, Ponca City, OK., Norfolk VA. and Roanoke, VA. (33 Years), and Bertram TX. He was a Charter member of the Centurymen, 100 Voice, and Male Chorale. Doyal married Wanda Morris of Boones Mill, VA IN 1999. For 14 years, he was the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Bertram, TX. Doyal was the founder and director of the Hill Country Blenders.

Doyal is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Elsie Spence and first wife, Martha.

Doyal is survived by wife, Wanda Spence. Brothers Leo (Vivian) Spence and Richard (Rita) Spence, Sons Roger Spence and Justin (Gretchen) Morris. Taylor, Britton and Landry Morris, Sam (Mika) Spence, Luke and Lila Spence. Mike (Heather) Burke, Clara, Max and Teddy Burke.

Memorial services will be held on March 5, 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Bertram. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Bertram to support their Water Well Project in Benin, Africa.
