Donna was born June 29, 1933, in Clay County, Iowa, the fourth child and baby of Clarence and Cora Hargrave. Donna grew up in Spencer, Iowa, where she received her education. She married the love of her life, Allen Paul Kladstrup, in a double ring ceremony with Allen’s brother, Everett, and his new bride Percy Kladstrup on August 20, 1953.
Donna married a military man, so their early years were spent traveling the globe. They settled in Burnet, Texas in 1977. Donna was active in many worthwhile community causes, but her first love was her church, Burnet First United Methodist Church, where she served for many years as an active and supporting member.
Those who knew Donna knew she was a vivacious, adventurous, caring & faithful friend.
To her family, she was a loving, wise, compassionate and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the “cool aunt”. She treasured her friends, family and church, loving them unconditionally.
Donna loved to travel and spent her last years traveling to exotic locales such as Africa (twice), India, the Middle East, Greece, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland, Romania and had an excursion planned for the Amazon this spring.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, both parents, and beloved siblings Thelma Kress, Virgil Hargrave and Arthur Hargrave. She is survived by her son, Dirk Kladstrup of Pflugerville, her daughter Jill Braswell of Waco, grandchildren Allen Koester and Amanda Koester of Austin, Robert Pitts, Katie White and one great grandchild, whom she adored, Liam Corbin White, also of Waco and her treasured nieces and nephews.
