He is survived by his step- sons Jacob and Hunter Allen of Bertram, father Rickie Allen and wife Carol of Bertram, mother Mollie Bersch and husband Thomas of Copperas Cove, brother Kevin Allen and wife Naomi and their daughter Kaylee of China Spring, grandfather William D Allen of Topsey, grandmother Cecilia (Heidi) Rhymer of Copperas Cove, aunt Tonia Kirkham of Copperas Cove and cousins James Kirkham and Lari Kell. Brian was preceded in death by grandmother Wanda Allen of Topsey and grandfather Carl Rhymer Sr. of Copperas Cove.
Brian grew up in Copperas Cove and after graduating from CCHS moved to the DFW area to work for the phone company MCI. He was transferred to the Austin area and continued to work until he was laid off when the company collapsed. Soon afterwards he realized his dream of starting his own business in the metal building construction business and founded Metalworkz Construction from scratch. His strong work ethic, honesty, and commitment made his business flourish and he became a very well-known and prominent businessman in Central Texas.
Brian was an avid game hunter and fisherman but his most enjoyed pleasure was to be with his friends and family. His sense of humor was his trademark as well as the ability to be an embellished story teller. Brian was a very generous and kind- hearted man and would help anyone in need. He could be seen driving from Austin to Dallas and everywhere in between in his big red truck with his sidekick Ranger, a Labrador retriever, by his side.
Brian’s faith in the Lord was very strong and one of his greatest rewards was building the Hill Country Fellowship Church in Burnet of which he was a member. It is a vision of beauty and he was so grateful for the opportunity to serve his God in this manner.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
