In her years of growing up, she was not only a big sister, but a little mom to all her siblings and friends. Her hobbies or likes were fishing, camping car or truck shows (which she loved her 72 Chevy Cheyenne pick up that she entered in competition and won numerous 1st place trophies.)
Barbara would often have cookouts or barbeques at her home where she would invite everyone and anyone from friends, family in the neighborhood to attend because she loved to entertain guest.
Barbara would meet a stranger one day and became best friends the next. She was a very loving and kind person and would help in any way possible if she could.
Barbara never had children of her own until she married, Larry Allen Rainey in 1973 and 2 children which she loved like her own.
Barbara was thrilled to become a grandmother and a great grandmother over the years, which her name then became “Granny B”!
Barbara will be missed greatly by us all and will be thought of daily by most, but most of all, she would want us all to remember her laugh and caring ways and not be sad. And to remember all the good times each and every one of us had with her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her grandparents on both sides. Her parents, W.C and Marie, her brother, Roger Dale, her niece, Barbie Jean, Nephews, Little Ricky and Cody and her great nephew, Ashton Cutter.
Survivors include her children, Tonya Vick and Larry Allen Rainey, Jr. Her grandchildren, Phillip Vick, Austin Vick, Brooklyn Vick and Larry “Troy” Allen Rainey III. Her great grandchildren, Willie David, Norma Jean, Brenda Janine, Ricky Glenn, Jimmy Don and Rick Lamb. Barbara is also survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Roger Jr (Kelly), Brendalee (Greg), Donna Michelle (April), Samantha Fay, Diana Egger, Anthony “T.J.”, Cegie Lynn and Betty Jennette (William). Along with numerous great, great Nieces and nephews along with numerous other relatives and lots of friends.
Barbara always said, “When I am gone and you see a red bird (that was her favorite), know that I am visiting you and that I love you.”
