Mr. William Kwok Tai Leung

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather and Shifu, William Leung on November 13th, 2024, age 80, surrounded by his loving family.

William was an honest man, loyal and devoted to his family and friends. He was intelligent and kind with a quirky sense of humor. He always maintained his positivity, his fighting spirit, and an insatiable amount of curiosity. Whether it was surviving the Chinese Revolution and journeying to Hong Kong or starting anew by immigrating to Canada, he was always driven to make a better life for himself and his family.

As a lifetime learner, he was ever curious and excited to share new ideas and discoveries. He was an active member in the martial arts world with a passion for teaching qigong through his own club, KWS.

He made sure that his children understood the importance of a good education and the value of hard work. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren tips and tricks in life. William treasured his family and was authentic and genuine in his conversations with everyone he met.

His legacy will live on through the curiosity and appreciation for lifelong learning that he sparked; the willingness to work hard and to be grateful for and generous with the resources with which we are blessed. We will cherish all the memories, teachings and his great spirit for generations to come.

A visitation for William will be held Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 28th, 2024 at 10:00am at Forest Lawn Funeral home, followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

William is survived by his wife: Jean Leung. His children: Susan Leung (Nathan Shouldice); Rosanna (Gordon) Wang. He was a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren: Sarah Shouldice, Danielle Shouldice, Jacob Wang and Zoe Wang.
