Wendy Wolanski (Majczyk) passed away at the grand age of 93 in Kelowna, British Columbia. She was a caring mother to Stan Wolanski, Rosalie Williams, Helen Wolanski (deceased), Cecilia Lea and Paul Wolanski. She loved and was loved by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. During WWII, Wendy was a translator-secretary in London, England. She and Jan Wolanski were married on Sept. 26, 1942. While the children were young, she worked from home, making soft toys and doll clothes. After immigrating to Edmonton, Alberta in 1957, she continued her career as a stenographer and office manager. She loved to sing and dance (on stage & off), often making elaborate Polish folk costumes for performances. The family moved to Burnaby in 1973 where she especially enjoyed walking with grandchildren along Vancouver’s oceanside parks as well as traveling to various parts of the world. After relocating to Kelowna in 2004 she enjoyed scenic drives, waterfront walks, and family occasions. A celebration of life will be held March 5, 2017 at Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby, BC.
