我眼中的Ada是一位温柔,笑容可掬的女士, 同時她也很積極、堅强地与癌魔搏鬥多年。在我剛認識她和Danny的時侯,我已感到他們有很强的親和力, 碰巧 Samson 和我亦曾在同一間银行内工作,其後, Samson與我女兒Jayne又在同一所機構共事; 我相信這都是神奇妙的安排,讓他們成為我日常禱告中所记念的對象。記得Ada曾請我们夫婦以及幾位教會弟兄姊妹到她們家中晚飯, 她還親自邀請我媽媽一起参加,充分顯示出她對長者的尊重和関懷, 當晚的聚會使我們初嘗主内一家的喜悦, 期盼在天家我們再續未完的分享 。

親愛的Ada 姊妹, 我為你已經脫離病痛的煎熬, 現今安然躺臥在天父懷中而感謝神🙏🙏🙏,

與五嬸相識超過三十年了，我們都喜歡叫她「肥媽」，這稱呼有著無形的親切感。認識她時我仍在讀中學，對她的第一印象是她是一個善良朴實的女孩，有著傳統中國女性的美德，事事以五叔為中心。結婚有了小朋友後更是全心全意照顧好家庭，讓五叔可以無後顧之憂全情投入發展事業。她的所有心思全都放在丈夫、孩子身上。

五嬸對家人對朋友也是很照顧的，對我這個姪子更是沒話可說，猶記得我在97年金融風暴之時，因為欠下銀行很多錢，事業又只是剛剛起步，前路茫茫，那時候我硬着頭皮向五叔借一筆數目不少的錢。他們在不知道我是否有能力還錢的情況下，五嬸不但沒有反對，更支持五叔借錢給我，這事讓我銘記於心。肥媽，在這裡讓我再對你說一聲謝謝，沒有你們的幫助，就沒有今天的我。

記得曾陪妳去醫院做化療，見到那支又粗又大的針管，煞是駭人。醫生沒有對準血管，弄到妳滿手是血，妳沒有哭只是不停流淚，看到妳的堅強，也替妳辛苦。前幾年妳的病又復發了，長期都要食藥及化療，在妳身上我看到頑強的鬥志，從不抱怨。更感受到妳多麼的想陪伴兒女成長。

在妳最後的日子裡，妳仍然裝著堅強，仍不忘提醒我戒煙，雖然這刻我仍未做到，但我一定會努力的。

在天堂再沒有痛苦，也不用掛心妳的丈夫兒女，我們會好好照看他們的。願妳可以快快樂樂，將來我們在彩虹橋再相聚！

「真正朋友」，我好希望用這四個字來形容我，我太太Carol, Danny Law 和 Ada。真正朋友不需要每天見面，但相遇時卻無所不談，互相幫助，互相關心对方。我們四人不單是朋友，又是好鄰居。在香港大家同住在沙田第一城，後來大家移民温哥華，又再一次成為鄰居。雖然Danny和Ada 有兩次回流香港，但最後大家都是住在Burnaby附近，又再一次是鄰居。 Ada是一個小女人，她甚麽事都以家庭為中心，丈夫，兒女是她的人生工程，在這工程付出時間，精神和体力，無怨無悔。Ada是一個好依賴Danny的妻子，是一個典型家庭主婦，相夫教子就是她每曰工作。Ada 有一句口頭禪(唔好麻煩人)，所以好多時都頂住上。Ada是一個生命戰士，她面对一次又一次重病，並沒有放棄，打完一次又一次勝仗。2017年我太太因為要入Kelowna幫大女照顧孫女，我就成為太空人，當時我和细女住係Burnaby, 飲食自然好隨便，住家飯當然是少之又少。Danny和Ada不單請我到他們家吃住家飯，還煲湯给我和细女飲，温暖和友情令我到現在都知味湧心頭。Ada第二次重病入院要做開腦手術，完了手術，她說見到我好開心，好平静，一点害怕都無，Ada當我是哥哥，我當Ada 是妹妹。Ada人生路走完了，但我相信她與家人，朋友是短暫分開，將來家人，朋友會在天堂重聚。我更盼望Danny Law 和她兒女在信仰上扎根，好好在地上生活，認識生命的意義，榮神益人🙏

認識你和 Danny已經三十多年， 聽到Ada去世的消息，我們倆人都十分傷感。

在我們所認識的Ada，她是一位賢妻良母，待人接物都十分得體。記得他們一家人住在沙田的時候，一次Danny帶著一些疲累心情下班回家，Ada把當天一些家庭瑣事向他申訢，他聽後沒有作聲心裡很不開心，不知不覺間竟然把電話擲在地上，然後回房睡，夫妻倆整夜沒有談話。第二天早上Danny發覺餐桌上放置一頓豐富的早餐，是賢妻Ada特地做給他的，Danny當時十分開心，十分懊悔向著Ada説聲多謝及對不起。

Ada很懂得人情世故，實屬難得，她的離世，是朋友們的捐失。

Ada 在住醫院其間, 正式決志信耶稣，得着上帝的救恩和永生的應許。她息去世上勞苦，榮登天家，得享天堂的福樂。

Auntie Canada, 

Living in opposite ends of the world, we were not able to see each other often, but to us, she has and always will be Auntie Canada. 
Why Auntie Canada, you may ask? Because our dad has so many siblings and so we have so many uncles and aunties, our parents nicknamed all our relatives to help us distinguish them easily. 
Despite the distance, our dad would tell us stories of his childhood, and through these, we were able to get to know what a great sister she was. 

The most memorable thing was definitely the rare but laughter-filled family reunions in Hong Kong. Dinners with the Cheung household was on another level. We have never been to a dinner where everyone was so willing to pay and yelled like they were angry, but it was really just the Cheungs' way of talking. Honestly, we were embarrassed at first, but ever since the first time, we would sit back in awe at the noisiness at the dinner table. It truly felt like we were being transported back to our father’s and uncle’s and auntie’s childhood days. 
And now? We wouldn’t miss it for the world.

We are thankful that she is now in a happier place where she will endure no pain. We will be awaiting for the day we meet again.

Our family has a lot of siblings, 11 in total. There were 11 of us and all daughters were well known for these things:
The first is their beauty, as I am sure we can all attest to.  
The second is that they all tend to speak loudly, as having to compete with 10 others, speaking on top of each other was crucial to us being heard. 
In line with the tradition of the Cheung’s, all of the women were the ones making the decision. Thankfully, they never made a bad decision. 
Most importantly, they treated us better than their husbands. 
And she was no different. 

Although we are family, there were still things I did not know. I did not know her English name until i finished school. Funnily enough, Ada was a term I had learnt in school and since then it has stuck with me. As far as i know, she was the only one without a nickname. What do you think would suit her best? I think “Cheung Oar” (Chinese pun which means “nagging”) would suit her. 
Although we were only 7 years apart, she still nagged me like a mum. However, her maturity and compassion was felt by those around her since an early age. 
When we were young, 9 of us lived in the Yuen Chau estate, where manoeuvring around the flat without breaking something was no easy feat.  
Even when she moved halfway across the world, to an unfamiliar country, I was comforted by the fact that it was Canada. I was able to alleviate her concerns, having spent my university years there, as well as recommending which Chinese restaurants to visit. 
I am sure these qualities will continue to live on through those that she has touched.

感謝神讓我們夫婦認識了Danny和Ada兩夫婦已經有超過十五年了。他倆夫婦給我們的印象是平易近人，非常好客，每次到訪他們家中時，都得到他們的熱情招待，令我們感到賓至如歸的感覺。Ada姊妹那種沈默寡言和溫文爾雅的性格，使每一個和她一起相處的人都感到很舒服。最記得數年前我們一班弟兄姊妹們到他們家中參加火煱聚會，我們彼此𣈱談歡笑，他們夫婦的熱情款待，心中倍覺溫暖，此時此刻我們仍然瀝瀝在目！ 

Ada和Danny前幾年都有經常參加我們教會的團契和崇拜的聚會，但是後來由於Ada身體的原故，未能經常参加。雖然如此，很感謝天父上帝，最近得知Ada和Danny一家人（包括Samson和Jessica)都決志相信耶穌。這是一個好得無比和十分美麗的事情！能夠一家人同時一起決志信主是一件不容易的事情！主耶穌在約翰福音12章24節中説過：「我實實在在地告訴你們，一粒麥子不落在地裏死了，仍舊是一粒，若是死了，就結出許多子粒來。」現在Ada姊妹已經在天父的懐中，享受永生的褔樂，求主耶穌繼續保守和帶領Danny,Samson和Jessica不斷努力地和神建立更緊密的關係，緊緊靠著神走在我們這個人生的天路歷程！到那日，我們必與Ada在天家相見！

Dear Ada, your smile is still fresh in my mind. You will be missed and I am for sure that we will be meet again in the Heaven.  Now, you can now rest completely with confident and free from  pain, as you are now with Jesus Christ.  May God's presence be the comfort for your family.


Dear Ada, 

We regret and share the painful feelings for lost of you in your family. Hope that you will live peacefully in the heaven. It is definitely that everyone will have to face this kind of sadness moment in our life but we will meet again in the future. 雖然我倆夫妻認識Ada時間很淺但Ada給我們的感覺是一個積極面對的人，每次我們從香港來到溫哥華飯聚無論她是身體抱恙亦或已感疲倦但也依然笑容滿臉和大家交談。
而她對朋友的關心和重視更毋庸置疑。
因為當她得悉我們想移民加國但找不到家庭醫生便二話不說介紹家庭醫生資料给我們。
而她亦知道我喜歡攝影所以當我今年3月在加拿大時，已知道她身體虛約但她依然記掛著我還盡力介紹景點給我拍照，真的令我十分之感動。
希望Ada家人能早日釋懷 ！

You always take care of me and Phoebe as your own children. Teach us what to do and what not to do. I know that you are fighting against the disease for a period of time and you still face it with a smile on your face. You are a angel to me and I know that you will become one as you always do. Such a surprising news to realize Ada has returned to the arms of the lord. She will be missed dearly! Whenever I was with her, I could feel her calmness, courtesy, humble, empathy, politeness, and caring. She always gave me a positive impression.

My sister was a caring commanding officer in her family. She disliked when people around her consume oily fried food.
 
About ten years ago, sister's family, Candy, and myself traveled to Taipei. Brother in law, Danny,  was especially excited when he saw the deep fried street food. Before Danny could satisfy his burning craving, Sister quickly snatched the food off his hands and fed it to the trash can. Danny was unable to do anything but helplessly staring at the trash bin with frustration...

I believe these hilarious yet precious highlights will forever make Danny, Samson, Jessica, and myself miss her dearly. Hope one day we will pick ourselves up again. 

Sister you will be deeply missed and will be always in my heart.

Ada, Wai Ying Cheung,  a good friend of mine, lucky to have her being my sister-in-law.  Since I knew her, she always kept her smiling face, friendly and made herself approachable by people around her.
She likes taking care people.  Remember in Hong Kong before immigration, every outing with her, she prepared bus fare for each related one, of course including buying food.   She bought drinks before you felt thirsty.  She always said we are member of the same family, nothing needs to be measured.
In the past years, she kept fighting with her recurrent, stubborn, fierce  cancer,  intertwined with up and down.  She understood it was really exhausted for her family.  She never complained, never let other people worried about her.
She spent her whole life focusing on her husband and two children.  I remember I visited her few times, she always cooked variety of delicious nourishing good food for every body . For sure her husband and children have healthy food every day.
Since she is  no longer with us, she will always be greatly missed, leaving us all her unforgotten love, with warmth and sweetness touching memories  of her.

親愛的 家姐! 在我 年青時事業前途迷失中， 多得你的鼓勵和支持， 令我走出困境。 到我兒出世後， 你與我分享育兒經驗， 令我心存感激。 你雖已離去 在我心中你永遠存在， 願你在天國安詳

Dear Aunt Ada, 

 When I was very young, you had left us and immigrated to Canada, a place far away from us.  But every time you come back to HK,  you must gather with us to have dinner. No matter how tired you are, you always hang gentle smile on the face. You are telling us that you are very good, don’t worry about you.

 Aunt Ada, you are the bravest and kindest! You didn't leave us, just take a break at the main train station, we will definitely meet each other in one day.

Our interaction was brief yet memorable. I remember vividly how you brought your spark and lit up the room as you supported myself and Samson during a dispute with a store clerk.

That rush of emotion transitioned into compassion as we left shortly after; You told us how our friendship was so important and to always have each others’ backs.

We had barely known each other yet you had already touched me with your thoughtful words.

Since I was 13 years old, you would share everything that was happening with your life with me. This includes your work, coworkers, and friends. You always had a smile on your face. 

One day you told us you were going to immigrate to Canada. On top of my head, I knew this translate to not seeing each other as often anymore, however, you seemed delighted every time you came back to Hong Kong to visit. 

In recent years, we often fly over to Canada to visit you. I agreed with your decision, because you seemed overjoyed and satisfied living in Canada. 

Today once again, you traveled far away from me. But I know you would find happiness because you are returning to the arms of the Lord. 

May we be reunited again in the future.

Our family was not well off when we were young. Sister somehow could always manage to get her hands on some Coca Cola. Our home was located at Un Chau Estate. 
One day I was waiting sister to come home at the downstair lobby. Sister came back with a coke bottle in her hand, and she passed me the bottle after she drank only a sip. I was overwhelmed. She urged me to finish the bottle quickly before mother found out. Since I forced the drink down, my stomach was filled with gas. The gas caused stomache inside my little tummy. After all these years, this incident still put a smile on my face whenever I think about it. 

Sister was an unselfish and brave person.

Although sister get intimidated easily,  for some reason, she found the courage to immigrate to a brand new environment called Canada. I admired her bravery to sacrifice all for her family, especially her children. I remembered I flew over to visit her around twenty years ago, and she single handed raised both of her children. In the blink of an eye, the kids are all grown up now. I respect her for always fighting through obstacles and giving it all for her family. 

I am also very thankful for my brother in law. In order to support  his family financially, he worked tirelessly in Hong Kong. Even though he was separated with his family for an extended time, his love for his family never ceased. Sister, you scored full marks by choosing Danny as your husband. 

Most thankfully is that you guided your whole family, husband and the kids to believe in God. Receiving his blessings, guidance, and protection. 

Sister, please pray for our family, including all the siblings, to believe in God like yourself and receive his blessings, and to become the children of God. I wish one day we will be united in the kingdom. Until then, may lord give you and the family his peace and blessings.

我們少時，家景不太好，每個子女是沒有零用錢，不可自己買東西吃。
家姐是喜愛飲可樂，少時不知她何來有錢，可買可樂飲。有一次，當時家住元洲邨，在家樓下等她回家，她手持一枝可樂，飲了一少許，其餘給我，但是她要我快快喝，不要給媽媽知，當時很開心的喝，但是短時間飲，讓我肚子疼痛，因為太多空氣在肚子，但是又好好味。回想十分好笑。
她是喜歡與他人分享的人。
她又是勇敢但膽小的人。我佩服她，為了家庭（子女）的前途，勇敢到他方（加拿大），人生路不熟的地方，展開人生路，實在不是一件易事。擔心，焦慮是十分自然的事，何況她是比較膽小的人。記得早約20多年前，到加拿大探她，她獨力照顧2個小孩，直到現在2個小孩已成長。佩服她願意為家庭付出，面對困難。
另外，感謝姐夫愛她及2名子女，為了家庭財政上的需要，在香港努力賺錢，養妻活兒，與妻子及子女，長期分隔兩地，是一個好好的丈夫及爸爸。家姐，你無選擇錯人。
最大的感恩是，你帶領一家人，丈夫及子女，一起信主。得到上帝的大大祝福和，保守和帶領。
家姐，祝願我們一家（兄弟姊妹）像你們一起信主得救，成為上帝的兒女，在天家一起相聚。願主賜平安給你及你們。

Due to the current  circumstances i was unable to visit you in the hospital. But what i can say is this. You were one of the sweetest women I’ve ever known. you always had a nice smile and friendly greeting when I saw you. It always felt like home when i came over. You would always offer me food and tell me stories of you’re past. You will be missed dearly.     



My dearest Auntie Cheung,

Life is tough especially when we have to say our final goodbyes to our loved ones. Nothing lasts forever in life and that what makes it all the more precious. Everything comes and goes except memories stay with us forever and keep us going.  We will never forget your beautiful smiles, laughter, caring and kind words, optimism, bravery and so much more.

I still remember the last time we came to Vancouver to visit you and Uncle 5. You and Uncle 5 took us to watch the most beautiful sunset. I was mesmerized by the lovely views and the beauty of nature. We also took some wonderful pictures together to savor that glamorous moment.  You also took us to a Japanese restaurant and the food were super delicious. There were so much more beautiful memories I had with you since I was small that I couldn't mention them all here but will stay in my heart forever.

Auntie 5, I know you must go now to a different place where there's no more sufferings, pain and worries. God will help us to take good care of you and we know that you are in good hands. Your beautiful smiles, your face, your great laughter and above all our great memories with you will stay in our heart forever. R.I.P.



To Ada, relatives and friends,
I knew Ada about 35 years ago when she married my younger brother - a beautiful; young Chinese lady with a gentle smile always hanging on her face. We always met when our children were young, talking  to each other’s on daily matters while our kids were playing. We immigrated to Canada many years ago but     at different cities.  Ada would take us to have some dim sum while we were short stayed at Vancover. As a mother, brought up the two children in good health is her greatest carrier. Ada did it successfully and should have no regret. We missed her and wishing her happy in staying with God in another World.

I can’t remember when but I am sure I was small the first time I saw your smile. In my memory, you smile a lot. You always bring a warm feeling to us making us feeling loved. Although we need to say goodbye now, you always live in our memories. And the memories will continue to bring love to us.

這幾年、我到溫哥華探你、認同溫哥華真是風景好美、好舒服，你顯示滿足的笑容，你叫我退休後、一半時間来溫市生活，我微笑。雖然你在生病、你仍然好開心。
今日你回到主的懷抱了，我心中想、好似你當年移民、真是好遠....你總是比我快走一步。但我相信在天國你會開心的。

Ada 跟我認識有30多年，第一次看見她時，给我第一個印象樣子很美，開心樂觀的女人。每次大家有敍會的時候，她都帶给每個人開朗活力的笑聲。在她經歷治療的過程，她都堅強樂觀去面對，她的勇敢不是每一個人可以做得到。現在，她主懷安息，將來我們大家在天國，可以再次聽到她開朗的笑聲!
