Wai-Ling Tang is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Kit-Sang & Daisy; Kwan-Sang & Cindy; Wing-Sang & Julia; Lun-Sang & Jessie; Yiu-Sang & Carol. Seven grandchildren and spouses, Victor & Alice; Justin & Julie; Nancy & Larry; Norman & Emmylou; Tina & Jay; Priscilla & Michael; Evelyn. Seven great grandchildren, Rachael; Joanna; Norine; Sophie; Candice; Tymphany; Mathew.
Wai-Ling was born on January 12, 1930 in Canton, China to Dic-Chee Leung. In 1949 she married Wai-Ting Tang, a herbalist in China. Then moving to Hong Kong, the couple had five sons and she also worked in hospitals until the family emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1973. Wai-Ling, homemaker, set about teaching her sons various skills & principles in life. Her sons remember her as a kind caring mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Wai-Ling was good at cooking & knitting and often made wonderful won ton soup and loads of woolen scarves, hats and socks for families & donations. She was a dedicated individual, passionate about providing personal care to her family. She was an active member of the Vancouver Chinese Evangelical Free Church and involved in fellowship/prayer group. She enjoyed singing hymns and travelling around town by bus with friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00pm December 28, 2021 at Ocean View Funeral Home Chapel, Burnaby, B.C., with a restaurant reception to follow. Pastor John Yu will officiate the ceremony.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wai-Ling Tang’s life.
