葉 維 金 Wai Kam Yip (Nee 羅 Law) beloved wife,老婆 mother 媽 媽 and grandmother 嫲嫲 passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21 2024, after a courageous 9 month fight when diagnosed with pancreas cancer which later spread to her liver.
When Mama / Mammie was told of her diagnosis, she was strong and brave and said "I lived a beautiful long life, silly daughter, no need to shed tears" at the same time she was worried about family.
Mama was from:
番禺 Poon Yue, 鴉 湖 Ravenn Lake, 秀 水 塘 Elegant Pond, , 廣 州 市 Guangzhou Province,
中 國 China.
Born: October 31 1940
To the late Y.G Law 1916 - 1979 and the late G.S. Chow 1917 - 2003.
Predeceased by her second sister Y.T. Law and oldest son, K.M Yip.
Married January 1957
Moved to Hong Kong 1958
Immigrated to Canada (Vancouver, BC) June 1967 after being apart from her husband whom immigrated to Vancouver, BC in April 1959.
Mama / Mammie enjoyed cooking, and making all the "village" snack foods:
Hemp flower twist 麻花
Cow Ear Cookies 牛耳朵餅
Turnip cake 蘿蔔糕 enjoyed by family and friends.
As well as growing many vegetables in her backyard:
Chayote Melons 佛手瓜
Romaine Lettuce 蘿蔓萵苣
Bok Choy 小白菜
Yu Choy 菜心
Green Bean 豆角
Mo Gua 毛瓜
Were the many items she grew.
Mama / Mammie would also take care of the indoor plants and would sometimes help my Papa with the flower garden in the front on the house.
There were many compliments from the neighbours and random people walking down the street and alley wanting to know the secret of such a bounty of vegetables and bouquet of flowers.
Mama / Mammie is now no longer suffering or in pain.. She lived her life to the fullest and the way she wanted with no regrets.
Mama / Mammie is survived by her husband, daughter, two sons, daughter in-law, two grandsons, and extended family.
Rest In Peace, you will be dearly missed by all your family and friends. We will hold your memories close to our hearts.❤️
We Love You To The Moon And Back
