Sam left us all of a sudden. We all miss him very much.

In reviewing his life, I find that he had spent his whole life unselfishly fulfilling the dreams of others.

He supported Dad whole-heartedly to become a successful business man.
He supported Virginia whole-heartedly to reside peacefully in Canada.
He supported our two sisters whole-heartedly in providing a Canadian home away from home.
He supported his children whole-heartedly to become engineers and professionals.

His reward : He supported his desire by enjoying whole-heartedly gourmet Chinese food and fish.

When someone spent his life doing things for others whole-heartedly, is a life well spent.
Sam is great! He will be remembered forever.

My dear big brother Sam

Thank you for caring me especially the 5 years I lived with you  & Virginia. You two were always loving & thoughtful. You two loved, cared & protected me well like parents do. I was really blessed.

I admire your sense of humor,  making everybody laughs. I admire how you looked at the world with  the purity & warm heart of a child. Like the bible says. "Children can enter the kingdom of God." 

I admire how positively you handled life.

Your laughter will stay in my mind, and your brotherly love in my heart gratefully forever.

My big brother Sam

Sam is 11 years older than I. He is my big brother. At 10 years old, I moved from Macao to Hong Kong, and started living with Sam and other family members. At that time, I was a primary four student. Sam was 21 year old, already working in Papa's company. 

In 1972, I got married and was pregnant. He migrated to Canada. He suggested me to move to his flat in Hoi Kung Court. He was caring to me, and allowed flexible payment after I had settled the hospital bill. I always appreciate Sam putting my welfare first.

In 1985, Sam returned to Hong Kong. We saw each other more often, and my husband and I enjoy yumcha lunch with him very much. We had happy moments.

I am very impressed that Sam was real nice to papa. He cared a lot for papa. 
Sam had a happy life with Virginia, and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. He witnessed the fruit of success as his sons, daughter, and grandkids are all well established. 

Best regards to Virginia. I believe all of us, including Sam, want Virginia to stay happy and healthy at all times.
May he rest in peace.

It was a shock to me that Uncle Sam () passed away. 

I remember Uncle Sam fondly. He likes children. When I was a child, Uncle Sam used to put his hand on my tummy. By palpation, he claimed that he could tell how many prawn dim sims I have had. Then, I was reluctant to give away such confidential information. Now when I have my own daughters, I often imitate him, and play with my daughters in this way.

Around 1980s, we went on a trip together to  Gui Lin, Mainland China. I was learning photography, with a Manual focus film camera. He was patient to wait for me to take the photo.

When I was in junior secondary school, at a stage, I kept a book that recorded all my expenses: "bus fee, buying a book, pens..." When Uncle Sam found out, he was so excited. He scrutinised my account book.

Uncle Sam was happy to see my two daughters. He can always think of funny questions to ask children.
