Marija Jovanovic

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marija Jovanović. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Burnaby General Hospital on September 6th, 2023 at the age of 85.

She is survived by her daughters Teresa Bulic and Jacqueline (Renato) Augustinovic; grandchildren Iva (Matthew) Bulic, Nikola Bulic, Lucija (Lado) Nazifovski, Andrija Oreskovic; great grand-daughters, Daria and Sofia; sister Ivka Ljiljak; nieces Ana (Ivan) Baričevac, Alma Augustin, Ljubica Ljiljak, Željka (Franjo) Horvat, Ljerka (Miroslav) Novak, Žarko (Jasna) Augustin, Mario (Ivanka) Augustin as well as other family and friends in Croatia.

Marija was born in the city of Petrinja, Croatia on January 5th, 1938. She was a loving, humble, kind, and hardworking woman. Above all she was devoted to her family and in this she did not falter. She was the rock of our family and will be missed immensely.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 20th at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 East 1st Avenue in Vancouver, B.C. Entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum at Ocean view Burial Park in Burnaby, B.C.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church.
