Mrs. Maria Bordignon

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Bordignon, who passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, just two days shy of her 89th birthday. Maria was born on March 25, 1936, in Cassola, Vicenza, Italy.

Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lorenzo, with whom she built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. She was also predeceased by her mother Dominica, her father Bernardo, her sister Luisa, and her brother Valentino.

Maria was survived by her children, Rosa Maria (Fred) and Romeo (Lana). She was a proud and loving Nonna to Robert, Brandon (Aleisha), Kayla (Justin), Ashley (James), and Deanna. And was also Bisnonna to Bowen, Chloe, Giulia, and Shay.

Maria’s life was defined by her unwavering strength, generosity, and deep love for her family. Her home was always filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and the comforting sound of laughter. Maria will be remembered for her kind heart and the unconditional love she gave to all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth and compassion will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 330 Royal Avenue, New Westminster, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., with entombment at the South Mausoleum at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC, at 3:00 p.m.

Maria will forever remain in our hearts.
