Ed, I remember the day your Mother told Wendi to call her Margie. Wendi later said "But she's MRS. SMITH!!! - I can't call her by her first name." 
I remember Brad at about 4 years old, so proud helping to hold a garbage bag while Margie emptied the lawnmower bag, and him feeling so remorseful when called over to remove the not so nice words written in chalk on the road in front of Mrs. Smith's  house, the glitter pictures they made for her when they were little that had a place of honor in her kitchen for years, the birthday cards and treats she brought over, and the genuine interest she displayed each time she saw them.  She was Mrs. Smith.  It was because of all these things that it seemed wrong to call her Margie, she had been Mrs. Smith, always there and always caring from the time they were born. The strangeness passed and she became Margie, a dear friend, still loved and still respected. There were tears from our entire family when Ed passed away;  Mr. Smith also held a special place in everyone's heart
Margie will be missed by so many people and we will all cherish the memories of the times spent with her. Take care and know that we are thinking about all of you!

Both your Mom and Dad have touched my life greatly. It seems like only yesterday we lost your Dad. They were both taken too young. Your Mom always kept in touch with everyone and was a very special and caring person. Your strength will get you through this. Cherish the memories you have of them, they are special. Margaret will hold a special place in my memory.  She will be missed by many who hold her in the same place as I.  She kept in touch with her friends all the time, and she had many friends.  I will miss her calling, telling me to get out of my office and exercise.  I will miss our coffee times after walking for that coffee.  I will miss the dinners she held for her family members, where I was always invited.  She will be missed.

Dear Ed....Put very simply....she was special. 
She had a wonderful way of making everyone in her midst feel special..never forgot a birthday, always kept in touch, was truly interestd in what was happening in your life...the list goes on. I have known you and your family for 50 years and you all have a special place in my heart. She will be missed. Love to all.

Ed, your mom was an amazing person. We will always remember her kind spoken voice and her beautiful smile.. She had a heart of gold, a trait you inherited from her. Our condolences to you and your family.  We love you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Ed, I had the pleasure of working closely with your mother at the CAU prior to her retirement. Thankfully she continued to come into the office regularly to update us on her adventures and upcoming travel plans. Margaret was so full of life and such a pleasure to know. My heart goes out to you and your family as she will be so missed.

I worked with Margaret in the late 90's.  Margaret was a warm and caring person.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand, too.  I am so sad to hear of her passing and will always remember her positive attitude towards life.

Such wonderful charming person, lit up the entire room. Grateful I had the opportunity to meet her.

From all the members of Circle of Friends. We remember Margaret as such a lovely smiling lady who was a member of our club for a number of years. Margaret came bowling with us and organized some lovely restaurant evenings. We are all so very sad to learn of her passing after such a couragous fight and we send our thoughts and prayers to all who loved & treasured her.

Marg was the hub of our family. She kept in touch with everyone all the time. She never forgot a birthday or special anniversary, there was always a phone call or card in the mail. She hosted family dinners for every occasion, special holidays, Grey Cup, birthdays, there was always a reason for her to get the crew together and visit and play games. Marg had her share of hard knocks in life, but she faced them head on and never let them get her down. We did not know your mother well, but time spent with her was always enjoyable. We ar so very sorry we did not have more time to get to know her better.

Our very deepest sympathies Ed. Marg was a truly wonderful person and we will forever cherish the time that we spent with her and the memories that we have. Margaret was a wonderful co-worker, much loved at the Vancouver CAU. After she retired she always made a point of coming in for lunch at least once a month. I also had a couple of terrific trips to New York and San Francisco with her. I will miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you,Ed, and the rest of your family.
