Louise was born in Scotland in 1933 to Alexander and Margaret McKie. She graduated high school and worked for a few years before immigrating to Canada in the mid 1950's. In 1957 she met and married Kenneth MacKenzie. They welcomed their first child Ian in 1959 and their second child Shona in 1960.
Louise was a loving and dedicated Mother. She taught life lessons of being kind, respectful and how to love unconditionally. Louise volunteered at her kids school for many years until returning to work in the mid 70's as a Care Aide. She was a hard worker and took pride in her job.
Louise was a devoted Nana to her grandchildren. Living next door allowed her to be involved in many ways, she truly was an amazing support to her daughter helping raise all four of her grandchildren. She was also a loving Nana to her six great-grandchildren who she adored.
Louise was always there for others, she was a good listener and a shoulder to lean on in tough times. She loved to cook, entertain and host family dinners. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, knitting, crossword puzzles, reading, movies, a good judge or crime show, going to markets and fairs, shopping, a trip to the hair salon, but most of all going out for a meal. Her door was always open for family and friends to come visit or stay awhile. Louise loved unconditionally, she was an intelligent, caring, truly beautiful woman with a spirit that kept things honest and real. She will be deeply missed.
