June 22, 1931- January 27, 2021
Ken Jang (89) of Vancouver BC passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021.
Ken was born in Vancouver and grew up in Chinatown, attending Strathcona School and Britannia High School.
Ken worked for Canada Post inside services, rising from sorter to Supervisor at the Main Vancouver depot and later at Vancouver Airport before retiring.
Ken met the love of his life Marion and, after a short courtship, they were married on September 22, 1953. They settled into married life and had Byron and Karen.
After retirement, Ken re-discovered his love of golf and could often be found on the links in the early mornings with his golfing buddies, staying active in the game into his 80’s. If he wasn’t seeing his friends on the course, he would be meeting them at their regular Saturday morning coffee gatherings at Burger King.
Ken loved socializing and enjoyed his daily mall walks and then having coffee with friends. He embraced his role as elder of his extended family, sharing stories of the family, and loved seeing the next generations growing up.
He is survived by his loving wife Marion, son Byron (Stephanie), daughter Karen, and granddaughters Emma and Miriam. He is also survived by his sisters Janet and Nell, sister-in-law Jenny, and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father, and doting grandfather.
A celebration of his life will take place once COVID19 restrictions are lifted.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.
He will forever in our hearts and missed dearly every day.
