She is predeceased by parents Monty and Barbara Young, and will be missed by sister Debbie, (Glen) brother Graham, ( Manuela) and nieces Katelin and Chelsea. She leaves behind cherished friends Carol Henney and Bruce Millen, close cousins Darcie, Gord, and Linda, many other friends and family. Proud member in good standing of the BBG, Big Bad Gang.
Kathy was one of a kind… smart, strong, feisty, funny, loyal and loving.
She was part of the Simon Fraser University community for over 40 years. She worked in the Finance Department and for the School of Engineering Sciences. Kathy had health issues most of her adult life but was never defined by them. What defined her was her resilience and her incredible ability to fight back, carry on, live in the moment, smile and love.
Kathy lived most of her life in Burnaby and Port Moody, but was fortunate to have recently lived in a cottage in Qualicum, near the ocean, which she loved.
There will be no formal service, please celebrate Kathy by going for a stroll, walking a dog, petting a cat or listening to Matchbox 20.
