Karen was a wonderful friend.  She always had a smile on her face and such a great laugh that was contagious to all around her. She had a big heart and was so thoughtful and kind. She raised money to buy xmas gifts for children less fortunate.  I couldn't ask for a better friend. She will be missed, but always remembered.

Karen was always kind and supportive - and that LAUGH! 

I started working with Karen at the LDB in 2015 and I’ll cherish every day she shared a funny story about the doggos she walked, or how she expressed her feelings for her partner - she always said “my sweetie”, all the cookies and donuts we bought from her for her shoebox project, and all the words of encouragement she handed out. 

I’ll remember all the walks we shared on the warehouse floor after she had a Blizzard (if you know, you know). Those damn ducks! 

We kept in touch during her battle, not nearly enough - but I was always amazed by her happiness at the little things, and how positive she was. 

If you’re feeling down, and missing Karen, have a Blizzard in her memory, I know I will. 

You will never be forgotten!

Karen was such a bright light and true blessing to our family and anyone who knew her. So many great memories that make us laugh. She was a real practical joker of which I was the brunt of more than a few times of the years!🤣🤪  Oh how Karen loved a good laugh!  At Christmas I used to call her Mrs Claus as for years she worked tireless all year fundraising,shopping,wrapping and delivering gifts to under privileged children at Christmas to make sure they had a present to open under the tree at 🤶 .Her two favourite times of the year were Christmas and her 🎂 birthday!❤️ Karen will continue to shine in our hearts forever. Her strength and courage was remarkable!  She was one in a million. She was an angel on earth and will continue to be an angel in heaven! We are really going to miss you!  Will always remember your laugh and all the great memories over our lifetime! Love you, til we meet again!😇🥰

I first met Karen in grade 7. The cool guy in our class brought her to school and introduced her as his cousin. That would be “cousin Normie.” Soon after that, Karen invited me over to her house on Langside and I met Suzette, Uncle Andy, Oley, Fancy Nancy and Cousin Cindy. And of course, Karen’s mom and dad. It was a house full of laughter and chaos, and love. After a year or so, The family moved to Kamloops and we always kept in touch, writing letters and meeting up every once in a while because my grandma and uncle lived in Kamloops, too.  So one thing after another, I moved to Japan and got married and had two kids and Karen went to Kingston and then finally we got to see each other every summer because she and Lucille came back to live in Vancouver.  Every summer great adventures with Karen and Lulu- so many incredible memories. I’m so very thankful for our friendship over all these years. You taught me well, my dear friend, about the joy of life. I will keep everything alive in my heart, so until we meet again, at the big Dairy Queen in

I would like to send my very heartfelt condolences to Lucille and all of her big family, and to Nancy and all of her big family. Karen was lucky to have such incredible wonderful family, and she knew it so well . She had so much love in her heart for everyone, and she was so loyal and protective, she had everyone’s backs. And we all gave her that back, but the one who gave the strongest and most powerful amazing love and balance   - Lulu. 
My heart is with you, and all, from way across the Pacific Ocean in Japan.  

When I heard the news, it really turn my heart apart. 
I remember the days you took us all over the place is every summer vacation since me and my brother were little it was always always the most exciting and wonderful adventure. 
I still remember when you took us to a small trip down to the beach and you always gave us awesome treats when my mom didn’t know. It was so fun. Since I graduate high school, it was kind of hard to visit Vancouver and to see you and I really really regret that. I hope you’ll be in a better place and I will always always miss you.

My Best Friend!
Karen is the best friend everyone wants. I was so lucky to have Karen in my life and she was and always will be my best friend.  Over 40 great years!  I to know of Karen’s big heart, her selflessness  and her humour.  I got to see it and feel it every time we were together. She had a serious side too which came out many times over our years. Karen gave so much love and support to me even in her last days . I will miss you so much my dear friend! I will hold onto all the fun times we have had. You will be in my heart always.
One of my earlier memories is when we were at the bar and she introduced me to her new girlfriend Lulu! Lulu went to the washroom and Karen said to me Lulu is the one for me. Her face lit up and a huge smile was on her face and I new she was serious. She was right! What a great partnership..
My condolences to Lulu and all Karens family and friends. I know Karen will be with us always!

When I remember Auntie Karen, the first thing I think of is her laugh ; she had such a great laugh. 
Growing up with her as my Aunt was more like growing up with a big sister. She was super fun to be around, she had a great sense of humor and she lit up the room when she walked in. She was a very positive person who had a great spirit for life. 

I am very sorry that she is not with us anymore, she will be missed by the many people who enjoyed her company, her wit, her charm and her loving nature.

I’ll see you again someday Auntie Karen.

I  did not know Karen very well I met her moons ago  through Loretta at  Nancy's  house we  had a blast laughed joked just had a great time  I always remembered  how funny she was then and full of life.

Auntie Karen, I have so many good memories with you but one of my favorite was the last trip we went on a few years ago to Penticton. I loved watching you swim and play in the pool with my daughters. Kaylee still talks about how you swam with her on your back and how much fun it was :) Going to the wineries with you was a blast! We laughed so much my cheeks were sore afterwards. The way you carried yourself in life, spent so much time fundraising and volunteering for those in need, the strength and positivity you displayed this last year and a half . . . you are truly an inspiration to me and I feel so fortunate to have had you as my aunt. I love you and I will miss you dearly.

The best memory I have, and will ever have, is when Karen introduced me as her sister. For the first time in my life, I felt like I was someone who belonged. I will cherish that sense of belonging until we meet again  - sister.

Karen was kind and compassionate, A real people person. She loved doing things for others, dog walking, children’s foundation was always fun to go shopping for at xmas time. She will be missed by all who got to know her. 

I am so very sad to hear of Karen’s passing. 
I have had the  privilege of knowing both Karen and Lulu for many years when  they joined our breast cancer survivor group through the Running Room  on Denman. They became not only part of our support group but also part of our survivor family. She will be sorely missed🤗

We are so sorry to hear of Karen’s passing.  She put up such a brave fight with Lucille & her family by her side.  She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, willingness to play hard & fair in soccer & fun loving spirit.  She touched the lives of everyone she met & especially at Christmas by fundraising, donating money & time fulfilling the special gift requests of underprivileged children,

Her spirit will be in our hearts forever.
