Hung Wai Raymond Ip, 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Vancouver on Saturday, September 14th 2019 after a short battle with cancer. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 26th at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Ip was born on November 4th, 1939 in Hong Kong. He graduated from Hong Kong Sea School and spent the majority of his career as a Ship Planning Manager with Modern Terminals Limited until immigrating to Vancouver, Canada with his family in 1990. He ran his own company, Ip’s Marine Consulting for a few years and continued to work in shipping and customs until retiring in 2009. Mr. Ip met and married his wife, Shun Yee Betty Ip (nee Wan) in 1972. They were married 47 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed home renovations, antique shopping and was a huge Vancouver Canucks fan.
Mr. Ip was a loving husband and wonderfully devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Shun Yee; his sons Ivo, Trevor and his wife Sally and their children Preston and Keira; his brother Wing; and his sister Eva. He is predeceased by his parents C.C. Ip and W.M. Lee.
