Francesco Scali

Francesco Scali, of Vancouver, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, September 15, 2018. He was 95 years old. He was predeceased by his mother Carmela Murruni, father Vincenzo Scali, and brother Giovanni Scali. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy, along with his daughters Maria (Ward), Pina (Gino) and grandchildren Eric, Anthony, Vanessa and Carter. He was born on March 15, 1923 in Mammola Provincia Reggio Calabria, Italy. He married Nancy and moved his new family to Canada in 1972. He worked for Canadian Steel as a welder for 22 years, retiring in 1988 at the age of 65. Some of Frank's greatest joys were his daily trips to the coffee shop on Commercial Dr., hunting in the fall, tending his garden, seeing and being with his grandchildren. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier St. Vancouver. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Parish on Wednesday, September 26 at 12:30 p.m.
