She is survived by her loving husband Paul Foon Ngan, son Barry, daughters Linda, Marilyn, Shirley (Alfred) and grandson Derek.
Donna was born in Taishan, China and arrived in Vancouver via boat at 19 years old. Three years later she met Dad, the love of her life. Together they ran 2 grocery stores at 1 time for over a period of 15 years. She even arranged flowers there and interacted with customers as this was how she learned more English. She later became a seamstress and retired in her 50’s at the same time as her husband so they could enjoy their retirement years together.
She was a beautiful person inside and out with a huge heart filled with love, generosity, kindness and respect. Donna had such a radiant smile and was very expressive as you could always hear her laughter and excitement! She was strong, independent and knew what she wanted. This included living a healthy lifestyle such as swimming, aerobics, walks with her husband and making her weekly soups. As well she loved travelling, cooking, shopping, playing lotto weekly and watching her chinese shows, football and hockey!
Donna touched the hearts of many. She will be most remembered for her traditional values and strong desire to maintain a closely knit family including the relatives. She loved gatherings at the home or at dim sum so she could enjoy time with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 12:45 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or BC Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
