Dear Mary, Teresa, and Liza,
I offer my heartfelt condolences to each of you — and my ongoing prayers too. Although Dear Anita's life was short, her light never grew dim. From the time she served as an educational assistant at Our Lady of Sorrows Schools to the time she peacefully entrusted herself to be embraced by God's deep abiding love, it has been a precious and enlightening gift to journey with her. 
As a way of celebrating the beauty, dignity, and grace of Anita’s life, the following sonnet is lovingly submitted on her behalf: 


A TRIBUTE TO ANITA RANIERI
Loyal to her family, faith, and friends she stayed;
True to herself, Anita did remain. 
A life well lived in service, she maintained,
With passion, each action she strove to sustain
In helping others to live with hope and trust—
Even at times when days were bleak and dim.
Anita’s own life journey does attest 
How well she persevered: finding strength through Him,
She had the will and courage to forge forward;
Knowing there is a time for all things to take place,
With arms uplifted to the heavens, she moved onward
As her precious life on earth began to cease.
And, as her new life of LOVE with God began,
She prayed those left behind, would one day make the span.

I am so sorry for your loss.  My heart and prayers are with you during this difficult time. 

You were always such a light in the classrooms at STA and it is evident that you share that beautiful spirit with your mom.  She will always be with you.

I am so saddened to hear of Anita's passing.

I met Anita at St. Pat's. As young teens, we worked at the same store for part-time jobs. Anita was always very kind and she always wore a beautiful smile on her face.

Dear Teresa and Family,
My heart is with you at this difficult time, and I am very sorry for your loss.  I remember Anita's beautiful smile from those times that I saw or spoke to her when you, Teresa, were in Gr. 8.  I think she came sometimes to a volleyball game or to pick you up after a practice.  The way she warmly greeted others, her gentleness, and her kind, thoughtful words will always be remembered.

Dear Maria, Teresa, Liza and family:
My deepest sympathy, condolences and prayers.   I am so, so saddened by the death of Anita.  She was the most courageous person I ever knew.  Anita’s determination, generous and caring spirit and love of family and friends were a great inspiration to me and many others.  Despite the many challenges she faced, she was always more concerned about others (especially her family).  I greatly admired her and have been so very blessed to have known Anita as a student, parent and friend.  She will be deeply missed.  I will always remember Anita, especially her tremendous courage and zealous spirit.  I am confident that Anita’s faith, grace, and courage will live on in all who knew her.  It is my hope and prayer that she is now without pain and with her dad; at peace and at home in the love of God.  

Dear Teresa;

You were a joy to teach and coach and I was so sad to hear that your mom had passed away. I am very sorry for your loss and will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. 

I know you will be brave, like your mom, through this difficult time and the same beautiful smile you share with her will shine through again.

Life isn’t fair sometimes and this definitely is one of those times! Anita, you will be deeply missed and I’m soooo glad the family was able to make it out to BC to see you guys!!! 

Maria, Liza and Teresa, our thoughts and prayers go out to you all and no matter how far we are, we’re always thinking of you guys, especially during times like this!! Anita was a fighter, her strength and courage has touched many lives but most of all, Teresa’s. You should be super proud of your mother and how she fought every single day. You 3 ladies were the reason she fought so hard but now she doesn’t have to anymore, she’s not suffering anymore and she’s at peace with her dad back at her side! 

She was a loving mother, sister and daughter and that will never change. Thinking of you all and try to stay strong because, like Anita, that’s what she’d want you to do!!

Dearest Anita, It does not seem fair. The extra challenges , the extra pain or hardship, which some seem to be given in this life. I heard no complaints from you. I saw you smile , I heard you laugh. I watched as you enjoyed your baby girl. You got to watch her grow into a beautiful young woman. I admired your courage, your fight, the amount of effort and time you put into research. You were a good mom. I could hear the love your daughter had for you, whenever my husband and I spoke of you, to ask how you were. I wish you peace and know a better place now awaits you. 
May the memories your family and friends shared with you give them the  comfort to help them heal from the pain of loosing you so soon.

To my dearest Teresa and to Liza, and Mary. I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies. I had much Admiration for Anita. We got to share such joy with the close births of our children together. Those were very happy times, we shared that I treasure greatly. I pray that you all find comfort in one another.
