Agostino Risi

Agostino Risi was born on December 15, 1931 in Cervaro, Italy. He passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023 at the age of 91, at the Cottage Hospice in Vancouver, BC. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Anna and survived by his cherished son, Roberto and countless nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.

We will remember Agostino for his generosity and kindness to everyone. He was a proud hard-working man, extremely self-reliant and would always lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. Agostino’s dedication and big-hearted nature towards his extended family was remarkable. Becoming a father proved to be the most rewarding and challenging experiences in his life but, the love he had for his son Roberto was irreplaceable.

Throughout Agostino’s battle with kidney disease, he never lost his independence or his sense of humour. He had the ability to make others smile and his wit will be remembered. We would like to thank the staff at the Cottage Hospice in making his final days happy, comfortable, and very well fed. Agostino will be greatly missed and will live forever in our hearts!

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:00am, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 555 Slocan St, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at 1:00pm, the Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Cemetery, 4000 Imperial, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
