On July 2nd 1961 she married John Monroe and they had two children Julie and Steven. In 1970 the family moved to Sydney, Australia pursuing the ever-moving film industry. In 1972 they moved to Los Angeles where Naomi began to form various theatre groups; producing and directing both adult and children’s theatre. She continued to do that until she and John moved up to Ashland, Oregon where they were involved in the Ashland Shakespeare Festival.
In 2008 Naomi became a Grandmother for the first time, and then a second time in 2012. Both boys were the joy of her life. In 2015 John passed away after over 50 years of marriage. Naomi moved back to Los Angeles to be near her Grandsons and children.
She passed away on Sunday April 22nd 2018 and is survived by her grandsons Finch and Flash, her Daughter Julie, Son Steven, Daughter In Law Melanie, her brothers and her nieces. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She was a fierce supporter of the arts and equal rights for all. Naomi will be greatly missed, but we know that she is peaceful once again with her love John, and they are looking down on everyone with all the joy and happiness that her big memorable smile always radiated.
There will be an informal gathering Sunday April 29th from 2 to 5pm in
the Lounge at the NOHOSAC 10747 Magnolia Blvd in
North Hollywood to celebrate her life.
