Richard Elliott Kramer passed away with his family by his side on Friday, August 23rd, 2024 in Bullhead City, AZ. He was 80 years old. Richard was born in Medford, WI on February 8th, 1944 to Robert (Dorothy) and Clara Kramer. On April 26th, 1975 he married the love of his life, Mellodye Kramer. Together they raised 8 children; Shannon Skoulikas (James), Matthew Shanaberger, Kelly Nigh (Vern), Beaner Kramer, Wendy Jensen (Philip), Shaun Kramer (special friend Jen Dunham), Tammy Shanaberger, and Ericka Wawrzyn (Chad). Richard is survived by 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one on the way and 1 great great granddaughter.
Richard and Mellodye spent the last 10 years of retirement as snowbirds living 6 months in Wisconsin Dells, WI and 6 months in Bullhead City, AZ. They enjoyed traveling together, playing Hand and Foot & Monopoly, the warm sun in the desert, and visiting Oatman. He also spent time going for walks, finding Road Kill (if you know, you know), shooting guns at the range with his grandsons, daughters and son-in-law, feeding the roadrunners, eating Crumbl Cookies and his greatest joy was spending time with all of his family. Prior to retiring Richard spent many years as a Private Investigator and was a retired Army Veteran of 23 years, serving in Vietnam. Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother.
We will all miss his witty jokes and voicemails, his big floppy hat, his ear to ear smile when we came to visit and his XOXO texts. We will always remember the morals, manners, love and respect he instilled in us all, making us stronger forever.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place in Arizona. A Celebration of Life will be held in Fond du Lac, WI in October.
