Jesse Chavarria Sr.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service is set for 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 5, 2010 at the First Mexican Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Jesse was born March 8, 1930 in Bryan, the son of Francisco Chavarria, Sr. and Matilde de la Rosa Chavarria. He retired as a foreman from the City of Bryan Water Department. He was a dedicated husband , father and grandfather.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lupe “Pita” Chavarria, a brother Lawrence Chavarria, Sr. and a sister-in-law Lilly Chavarria.

Survivors include his children, Olivia & her husband Robert Ramirez, Sr. of Bryan, Jesse Chavarria, Jr. & his wife Janie of San Antonio and John Adam Chavarria of Round Rock; brothers, Frank Chavarria, Jr., Leo Chavarria, Sr. & his wife Connie, Oscar Chavarria, Sr. & his wife Helen; grandchildren, Rebecca Basquez & husband Gilbert, Robert Ramirez, Jr. & wife Tammy, Veronica Sustaita & husband David, Dora Ann Ramirez, John Frank Ramirez, Pete Gaytan, Jennifer Lozano, and Angela Marie Rivas; great grandchildren, Adam Robert Sustaita, Kevin Andrew Sustaita, Dorian Gage Hernandez, Jordan David Hernandez, Jaylyn Matilda Hernandez, Patrick Vasquez, Jeremy Vasquez, Faith Ramirez, Nevaeh Janie Castillo, Mariah Haley Mares, Dario Gaytan and Mia Amory Villarreal; sisters-in-law, Mary Sustaita, Janie Esparza & husband George; brothers-in-law, Lucky Ortega & wife Janie, Fred Ortega & wife Julia; close friend of the family Alan H. William; and numerous nieces and nephews.
