Bill was born on July 30th, 1939 in Willacoochee, Georgia to the late J.E. Bryant and Asta Faye Newbern Bryant. He was a graduate of Glynn Academy, class of 1958. Upon graduation, Bill moved to Virginia and met his lovely bride, Joyce. They soon moved back to Georgia, where he was the owner and operator of Bill Bryant Painting for over 40 years. He was an active participant in the Walk to Emmaus, and he worked for many years in the Kairos Prison Ministries.
In addition to Bill’s parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Steve Bryant; his sister, Betty Ann Bryant; and his brother in-law, Frank Preston.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Puffinburger Bryant of Brunswick, GA. Survivors also include his son William “Bill” Bryant Jr. (Lynn) of Alma, Ga; Grandchildren: Erin Bryant, Trevor Bryant, and Mallory Bryant, all of Brunswick, GA, and Matthew Bryant and Eli Groman, of Nashville, TN; Sisters: Barbara Hermes (Ron), Opal Rocha (Roy), Kathleen Preston, all of Brunswick, GA; Daughter in law: Kimberly Bryant, of Brunswick; several nieces and nephews; and last but not least, Bill’s special fur buddy: Ziggy.
Family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday October 16th, 2021 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Avenue, Brunswick Georgia.
A graveside memorial service is to be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at Chapel Park Cemetery, 1180 Cate Road, Brunswick, Georgia with Reverend Edward Gill officiating. Burial will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium in Brunswick, Georgia.
