Mrs. Bullock was a native of Brunswick, GA. She and her late husband, Johnny were the last of the pioneers. They raised horses in California, homesteaded in Alaska, farmed in Arkansas. Then, they came back to Brunswick later in life to hunt, fish and shrimp. Also, they camped on their own Bullock Island in McIntosh County.
She was preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Johnny H. Bullock; her parents, Alva Sterling Glover and Bessie Lauretta Decker Glover; her brothers, Jack Bailey Glover, Joe Decker Glover, Edward Bruce Glover; her sisters, Doris Glover Helms and Allene Glover Owens.
She is survived by her nephews, Patrick (Elizabeth) Glover of Evans, GA, Michael(Elaine) Glover of Midlothian, VA, and Henry(Ann) Owens of Oviedo, FL; her nieces, Michele Glover of Indian Land, SC, Betty ( Bill) Cory of Lexington, GA, and Joanne Howard of Chattanooga TN; her beloved sister-in-law, Dorothy Glover-Burris of Melbourne, FL. Several grand nieces and nephews also survive.
Shirley could shoot, garden, and knit. However, her greatest ability was to have a smile for everyone. She never met a stranger, just a friend she hadn’t met yet.
Her family would like to thank Gracemore Nursing Home for being a loving and caring family for her the last several years, she loved everyone there.
