Russell is survived by his 2 brothers, Billy Clark (Pat) of Folkston, Ralph Clark (Margie) of Perry, Florida, children Lisa Clark Hitt (Bill) of Brunswick, Lauran Clark Moreno (Steve) of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Phillip Clark of Brunswick, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Ann Clark parents Hudson Ferman Clark and Viola Boring Clark, brother Hudson Clark, and sister Merle Clark Gowen.
Russell was born on September 2, 1931 in Tarboro, Georgia. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1973 as a Master Sergeant.
Russell was a great family man and a loving father. He married Charlotte Ann Capps Clark in Waycross, Georgia on December 27, 1954. The couple moved from Waycross across the United States during his Air Force career with their 3 children and settled back in Brunswick when Russell retired in 1973.
Russell was an avid fisherman and spent as much time as he could fishing the waters of the Golden Isles. He was very active with his church family at College Place United Methodist Church where he served in many leadership positions.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, December 18th, 2015 at 11 am at College Place United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Grotheer officiating. The internment will follow at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Georgia at 1:30 pm.
The family will receive friends at a visitation at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, December 17,, 2015. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class of College Place UMC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to College Place United Methodist Church, 3890 Altama Ave. Brunswick, GA 31520.
