Robert L. Thompson, age 81, of Brunswick, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Thompson was a member at the New Life Sanctuary and had many hobbies including gardening, coin collecting and bee keeping.
He is survived by his wife, Gerri; five daughters, Sharon Glisson, Beverly Johnson and Kim White, all of Baxley, Lisa Jackson of Savannah and Tina Quinn of Brunswick; two sons, Jeff Newsome and Shawn Thompson, both of Brunswick; nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Jones and Reverend Dan Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service time. Pallbearers will be Terry Jackson, Ronald Hall, Earl Odum, Bob Peterson, Frank Whisnant and Billy Jones. The interment will take place at 4:00 pm Monday at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown, Georgia.
