Robert Smith

Robert “Bob” Earl Smith, 83, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his residence. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, 10AM at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Landrum officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Park Cemetery.

Bob was born August 1, 1929 in Waycross, Georgia to Horace and Leroy Smith. He is a long time resident of Brunswick, living here since 1967. He proudly served in the United States Navy during 1948-1968 during the Korean War. He enjoyed racing motorcycles but later became disabled due to a motorcycle accident in 1974. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors. He was owner of the Moble T.V Service and a member of Bible Baptist Church of Brunswick.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Doris Jean Dixon Smith. He is survived by four sons: Steve Smith (Evelyn Wright) of St. Simons Isl., Rick Smith of Brunswick, David Smith of Waynesville and Brian Smith of Brunswick; one daughter: Kathy Smith Harvey (Tony) of Gray, GA; six grandchildren: Becky Smith Fetterman, Rene’ Smith Brown, Marty Smith, Leo Ross III, Lauren Harvey and Anthony Harvey; six great grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Bible Baptist Church, Brunswick, Georgia. Arrangements are under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home,
