Patricia Black Chaney

Patricia Elaine Chaney, 57, of Waverly departed this life at her daughters residence in Brunswick Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Darien Church of God with Brother Tommy Whaley officiating. Interment will follow in Horse Stamp Cemetery in Waverly. Members of Darien Church of God will serve as pallbearers.

Born October 27, 1964 in Brunswick Georgia to Marcus Lee Black, Sr. and Peggy Elaine B. Black, she was a graduate of Camden County High School. Mrs. Chaney was very active in Darien Church of God, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and also taught Vacation Bible School Classes. She enjoyed visiting the nursing home where she was a former resident and fishing. She was preceded in death by her mother Peggy Elaine Black and her husband Dewey Chaney.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Strickland of Brunswick, four grandchildren, Joshua Alexander Strickland, Cassidy Faith Strickland, Jada Lashay Thomas and EJ Thomas, one great grandchild, her father, Marcus Lee Black, Sr. of Waverly, a brother, Marcus Lee Black, Jr. and wife Linda of Brunswick, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon May 13, 2022 from 2pm until the funeral hour at Darien Church of God. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. www.edomillerandsons.com
