Opal Mae Dowdy

Opal was born on April 13, 1928 in Dodge County, Georgia. She lived with her husband in Camden County for 30 years before relocating to Brunswick, Georgia. Mrs. Dowdy was retired from Gilman Paper Company in St. Mary’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dowdy.

Survivors include her son, Ken Dowdy (Eileen) and her daughter, Karen Rowe (Buford), grandchildren Ronnie Rowe (LeighAnn), Jason Rowe (April), Dwayne Dowdy (Kristie), Vickie Oliver (Jim), four great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.

A service will be conducted on Monday, April 26 at 2pm in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Daughtry, Officiating. Visitation will take place one hour before the service.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 1pm at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, Rhine, Georgia.
