I was introduced to Mark in August, 1966 at his dorm at OU.  I was there visiting a friend who lived across the hall.  Mark introduced me to the music of Jimi Hendrix for which I will be forever thankful.  His stories were always so funny and thay had that New Jersey flavor.  Two other students from New Jersey were there with him.

The last time I saw Mark he was dating a woman after he returned from the army and twelve years later I married her.  We are still happily married.

My deepest sympathy to Mark's family. Mark was a good man and I had the pleasure of working with Mark for several years. But even more important we became friends and I am so sad my friend is gone and I will not get to talk with with him again.  We had many really good conversations and I knew always could go to Mark for advice on many subjects.

I use to work in Suwanee, Ga with Mark.  It was my first security job at Edinburgh/Bear's Best.  I took a patrol job but as a female, I was terrified.  Mark trained me well in every aspect of the job.  He was sweet, funny, and very giving.  He watched out for me as if I was one of his kids even though I am 59 myself now.  He wasn't my direct supervisor but that didn't stop him from making sure I was trained well.  I left the company some years back and called him a few times after to check on him.  We were both veterans and would talk about that on our patrol rides for training.  He loved what he did with so much passion and conviction.  He will be missed on this earth but to have this angel watching over me will be so appreciated.  I talk of him in my stories of security but what is funny I was just talking about him a few weeks ago.  When I would be off and come back to work he would say I missed you, young lady.  That made me feel good that someone at a job would appreciate me so.   That is rare to find someone with genuine concern for your welfare.   I hate cancer because in 2013 I lost my 17-year-old daughter to kidney cancer and Mark would ask me questions about it.  Like how do I keep moving on with a smile and cope with it?  I just want his family and friends to know how Mark impacted my life and how greatly I loved him.  

I was saddened to hear the news about Mark's passing, but grateful his suffering is over...

I met and worked with Mark as a Board member at Edinburgh HOA for years. In that time I learned a lot about him and we became friends. He was a gentlemen who truly cared about his work and the people he served. He believed in doing the right thing and lived it daily. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Mark was my friend.  He was a caring and personable person.  One of the great ones.  I will miss him.

The world lost a good man - I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Mark for many years. We became fast friends. He was a smart man with a caring heart and great sense of humor. You could always count on Mark - he will be missed. I am very sorry for your loss.

I was City Manager of Brunswick during the time Mark was County Administrator  of Glynn County.  In all of our dealings, I found him to be smart, honorable and  fair.    Additionally,  both of us served in Southeast Asia in 1970  and  we would often talk about our experiences.     My wish is that Mark entire family be showed  with blessings and fond memories.

When I was on the County Commission we hired Mark. He was a very good county administrator. He was a better person. I have and will continue to think very highly of Mark!

Mark was one of the kindest, funniest men I ever knew.  I admired him and loved him.  He will be greatly missed by many.  Prayers for Jackie Magnant, her family and his family.  Rest In Peace, dear Mark.  You will be sorely missed.
