Lee "Sonny" Kicklighter Jr.

Lee “Sonny” Kicklighter, 72, of Brunswick, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 24, 2014 at The Grace Place with Elder Ron Scarboro officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with David Kicklighter, Matthew McKenzie, Michael McKenzie, Ronnie Barnhill, David Rogers, and Scott Rogers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Seaboard Construction, Employees of Driggers Homes, and Deacons of The Grace Place. Born January 3, 1942 in Meter, Georgia to the late Lee I. and Ollie Mae B. Kicklighter, he was a graduate of Glennville High Class of 1959, and a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He was a retired Vice President of Seaboard Construction, and was a member of The Grace Place. Mr. Kicklighter was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed camping and serving his church. He had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lee I. Kicklighter III, a brother, Elbert Kicklighter, and a sister, Gwen Kennedy. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Kicklighter of Brunswick, a son Jeffrey Kicklighter of Brunswick, a daughter, Julie Kicklighter of Jupiter Island, FL, two grandsons, Mason and Corey Kicklighter, four sisters, Melba Downs and husband Harry of Conyers, GA, Margaret Fussell and husband Tom of Spartanburg, SC, Mae Jo Garrett and husband Fred of Dothan, AL, and Maxine Davis of Athens, a sister in law, Duann Kicklighter of Glennville, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, November 23, 2014 from 4PM until 6 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
