Kenneth Edward Griner

Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Griner, 72, of St. Simons Island, departed this life on Monday, April 24, 2023, at SGHS Brunswick Campus. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Felix Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island with Bob Griner, Emried Griner, Taylor Adams, Ben Grantham, Ernie Dewitt, and Chris Hammock serving as pallbearers. Kermit Griner and the Glynn Academy class of 1968 will serve as Honorary pallbearers.

Born August 30, 1950, in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Robert Edward and Madge W. Griner, he was a graduate of Glynn Academy Class of 1968. Mr. Griner also attended the University of Georgia. He retired from Sea Island Company in sales and catering. After retirement Mr. Griner worked in security for Sea Island Company. Kenny was a lifelong resident of Glynn County, and a member of St. Simons First Baptist Church. He was an avid trout fisherman and was happiest on the water trout fishing. He also enjoyed working on computers, college football, especially The Georgia Bulldogs, and was well known for his witty sense of humor.

Survivors include his brother, Reggie Griner and wife Betty of St. Simons Island, two nephews, Emried Griner and Bob Griner, several great-nieces and a great-nephew, and several cousins.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 1, 2023, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. www.edomillerandsons.com
