James M. Cook, 74, of Brunswick, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Southeast Georgia Heath Systems in Brunswick.. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11AM in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Kemp and Rev. Hinton Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Chapel Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Brandon Scarbary, Wesley Parker, John Dove, Clarke Wiggins, Paul Finn, Gerald Rushing, and Bob Howell.
Mr. Cook was born May 11, 1938 in Brunswick to the late Jimmy Cook and the late Elizabeth Westberry. He is a lifelong resident of Brunswick and a graduate of Glynn Academy. He is a retired Insurance Agent from A.I.G Insurance Company., Mr. Cook was a member as a child of the Church of God of Prophecy, and a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved spending time with his children, wife and grandchildren.
Along with Mr. Cook’s parents, he is preceded in death by his infant sister.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years: Betty Cook; his daughters, son, son-in-laws, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by various friends and many other relatives.
