Jack was born October 5, 1932 in Hagan, Georgia the son of the late Marcus Evans Morris and the late Elizabeth Pearl Morris. He served his country with honors during the Korean War in the United States Navy. During his military service he received the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. After his military service, Jack became an icon at Hendrix Shoes for over Forty Years.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Evans Morris and Elizabeth Pearl Morris; four brothers and two sisters also preceded Jack in death. He is survived by three daughters, Melora Drury (Jimmy) of Brunswick, GA, Starla Dingler of Macon, GA, and Tami Howard of Eugene, Oregon; the mother of Jacks precious daughters, Sybil Jordan; three granddaughters, Shalotta Ryals (Roy), Tara Williford (Robbie), and Serina Joyce (Stephen); two grandsons, Dex Dingler (Brittany) and Tristen Howard; two great- granddaughters, Molly and Vivianne; three great-grandsons, Dylan, Garin, and Aidan.
The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 during the hours of 5:00-6:00PM. A Celebration of Life Service to honor Jack’s Life will be held in the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Reverend J. W. Griffin will officiate the service.
Jack loved to spend time with family and friends. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
