Horace was affectionately known as Burt by all who knew and loved him. He was born February 5, 1949 in Talladega, Alabama the son of the late Franklin Leonard Wilson and the late Bertha Lee Wilson. He served his country with honor in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and had lived in Glynn County since 1972. He was a past manager at Kroger and had also worked at Pantry Pride, Big Star, and Coca Cola during the late 1970’s until the middle 1980’s. He enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to George Jones. He also enjoyed playing Solitaire and had a great sense of humor. Burt was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, “ROLL TIDE” he would cheer. He also loved Eagles.
In addition to his parents, Burt was also preceded in death by four brothers: Richard, Willie, Malcom, and Jimmy Wilson: two sisters, Berta Mae Wilson and Polly Sweat. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sue Wilson of Brunswick, GA; a daughter, Lisa O’Berry (Paul) of Brunswick, GA; a son, Richard Wilson also of Brunswick, GA; a grandson, Joseph Teston of West Fargo, ND; granddaughter Amber Mock (Jacob) of Odum, GA; two sisters, Christine Medley of Talladega AL and Frankie Chappell of Sylacauga , AL.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. We are requesting that all in attendance please observe the state's social distancing regulations.
