She was born December 21st, 1923 in Roanoke, Virginia. She and her family moved to Glynn County when she was a teenager. She graduated from Glynn Academy in 1941.
Mrs. Cofer was a retired bookkeeper/secretary for Cofer & Cofer, LLC. She was a charter member of Christian Renewal Church and the founder/coordinator of the Church’s Jail Ministry which is still in operation. Through this ministry several thousand inmates have committed their lives to Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Lawson Cofer, an infant son, James Daniel Cofer, an infant great grandson, Daniel James Cofer, her parents, Roscoe Conklin Foster and Cora Lee Dudley Foster, a sister, Lois Foster Martin and two brothers, Roscoe Dudley Foster and James Robert Foster.
Survivors include her children, Martha Lee Cofer Hennemann of Brunswick, William Lawson Cofer, Jr. ( Lindy) of Brunswick, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Christian Renewal Church of Brunswick on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Fellowship with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:00. The Reverend William T. Ligon, Sr., her Pastor of 43 years, will be officiating.
The private burial was Saturday, January 28th.
