He is survived by his two children, Katherine Wood and Dennis Timothy Donnelly IV; his granddaughters, Amanda Wood, Evelyn Wood, and Jade Donnelly; his son-in-law, Donald Wood; and his ex-wife, Ileane Porter Donnelly.
His funeral service will be Friday, June 21 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. When he was 18, he joined the United States Air Force. He spent four years in the military as a radio operator. He was a powerful man who loved his family very much.
He was also a very religious, caring, funny, sweet, and kindhearted man. He would do anything for his family, such as go to his son's swim meets and coach his daughter's softball team for 14 years. A personal anecdote I would like to add as one of his granddaughters is my mom, sister, and I went to visit him in the nursing home to decorate his room for Christmas. He was so excited to see us and he could not believe how much love the room was filled with. We put up a small, decorated Christmas tree where everyone could see it. Every time someone came by the room, he would tell them all about how his lovely granddaughters decorated his tree for him. He was over the moon every single time he saw it because it reminded him of his loving family. He will forever be missed, but we know he is in a better place. We love you with all of our hearts.
