Curtis Vann

Curtis Vann, 80, of St. Simons Island, GA departed this life Friday, April 1, 2016 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems. A native of Montgomery County, GA; Mr. Vann had been a resident of St. Simons Island since 1957. Mr. Vann was born February 9, 1936 in Montgomery City, GA to the late Slaton Vann and the late Mattie Manus Vann. He was a graduate of Tombs Central High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Vann resided in Alaska from 1973-1979 moving back to St. Simons Island, where he was employed at Vann’s Barber Shop for the past 38 years. An avid golfer, Mr. Vann will be greatly missed by his special group of friends and his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vann was preceded in death by his brothers Fred Vann and Ted Vann.

Survivors include his daughter Stacy E. Foster of St. Simons Island, GA; his son Paul Vann of Plymouth, OH; his four grandchildren Joshua Dewitt Foster and Benjamin A. Foster both of Brunswick, GA and Kurtis Vann and Samantha Cash both of Ohio; his brother Jeff Vann of Hazlehurst, GA, his sister Irma Vann of Warner Robbins, GA; his first cousin Hugh Vann of St. Simons Island, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers family request memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society 3011 Hampton Avenue Ste. 361 Brunswick, GA 31520.
