Mr. Claude Johnson, 92, of Brunswick, Ga entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems. A native of Screven, Georgia, Mr. Johnson had been a resident of Glynn County since 1992. He was born February 3, 1924 to the late George Johnson and the late Mabel Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was self-employed by Johnson Electric of which he owned for over 50 years. Mr. Johnson was of the Methodist faith. He was a workaholic who also enjoyed fishing and traveling and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by four sisters Rita Rawls, Selda Nails, Lounell Johnson, Ruby Smith, one brother Glen Johnson and a granddaughter Toni Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife Lucille Noble Johnson of Brunswick, GA; two daughters Claudia Cunningham and husband Gerald of
Denver, CO and Cheryll Davis and husband Chuck of Atlanta, GA; two granddaughters Tyler Cunningham and Taylor Cunningham both of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters Ophelia Benton, and Janet Tatnall, and several nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance with military honors presented by the United States Army Honor Guards will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. at a later date
