Born April 3, 1945 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the late Jack Howell and Annie C. Sullivan, she was a licensed professional counselor. Mrs. Edwards was the former president of Citizens for Humane Animal Treatment. An avid camper she was a former member of the local Good Sam’s Club, and the South Georgia Puddle Jumpers. Mrs. Edwards had been a resident of Glynn County since 1970, and was a member of St. Simons Community Church and also enjoyed shopping. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Francene Edwards, and a sister, Bobbie Ann Williamson.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, James A. Edwards Jr. of St. Simons Island, a sister Mary Nell Williamson of Petal, MS, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
