Ada Lloyd McDaniel, age 81, of Brunswick, died Friday, April 24, 2015. Ada was a graduate of Glynn Academy, class of 1951. She worked as an executive assistant in the engineering department of Bell South until her retirement in the late 1980’s. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church where she served in the pre-school division and was a member of the Ruth Sunday School class for many years. Ada was an honorary member of the Diamond Bar D Saddle Club, an Emeritus member of Marshes of Glynn OES #243 and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a past volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a former officer and Woman of the Year for the American Business Women’s Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adonia Earl McDaniel, Jr.; her son, Wayne McDaniel; parents, Lester and Margaret Lloyd, and her brother, Sonny Lloyd.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah M. McDougle (John) of Gurley, AL and Fran M. Davis (James) of Douglas, GA; two sisters, Doris L. Houston of Brunswick and Lillian L. Snyder of Evans, GA; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Crandall officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Laura Philips, Diane Philips, Frances Mitchell and Carmelita Culpepper. Burial will take place at 3:00 pm in Camp Pinkney Church Cemetery in Folkston.
