Virginia Galvan Vega April 25, 1948 - April 30, 2022 Virginia was called home on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Brownsville Valley Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was a long-time resident of Brownsville. After 22 years as a Paraprofessional with the Brownsville Independent School District she retired. She was well known and loved by many and worked as a Secretary for Bellas Artes Academy. She also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mercy Hospital for several years. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a volunteer with the Brownsville Dioceses. Virginia was a true child of God who loved her faith. Her son Oscar, her family, her baby Rust-Spoons-t, her friends and Elvis Presley.
She is preceded in death by her parents Francisco (Zuniga) Galvan† and Lidia (Barrios) Galvan†; Brother Manuel B. Galvan† and two infant brothers Francisco G† and Francisco Galvan†.
Those left to honor her memory is her only son Oscar Luis Galvan, along with her siblings; Isabel B Galvan (Maria Francisca) of Brownsville, TX, Juanita Zimmerman (Bill) of Sarasota, Florida, and Luis B Galvan of Sarasota, Florida. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 2:00pm-9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1200 Lincoln St, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
