Ricardo Rodriguez Hurtado

Ricardo was born in Saginaw, Michigan. During his lifetime, he worked installing tiles, working as a Maintenance Supervisor, assisting with home renovations. Ricardo was always working with his hands at work or home, always a busy bee. When something was broken, he would fix it or watch videos to make it work. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle to get around for quick errands or for exercise. Although he was very slim his entire life, he would exercise and encourage others to do the same. His passion was reading his bible in the morning, writing scriptures daily in his notebooks, also journaling his tasks for the day. He enjoyed baking from scratch and his favorite snack was eating ice cream. He was able to travel, such as New Mexico, California, Dallas and Victoria, Texas. He made many friends and helped others without expecting anything in return. Even when times were tough, he helped others. In his later years, he was practicing playing guitar and drums to join the church band at Fe Y Esperanza Church in Port La Vaca.

Ricardo is survived by his wife: Estela Moctezuma Hurtado; his children: Vannah Jones (Edward Lidale Jones), Christine Hurtado and Ricardo Hurtado, Jr. (Keyla Hurtado); his parents: Maria Emma Acevedo and Jesus Acevedo; his siblings: Patricia H. Rodriguez (Guillermo, Jr) and Juan Hurtado, III (Lulu Ramirez); his grandchildren: Isaiah Michael Jones, David Edward Jones, Natalie Antoinette Jones, Marley Nataani Jones, Elijah Christopher Pintos and Evan Ricardo Hurtado; his nephews and nieces: Antonio Hurtado (Candace Hurtado), Juan Javier Hurtado (Tina Hurtado), Andrew Hurtado, Esmeralda Munoz (Albert Munoz), Javier J. Hurtado (Priscilla Hurtado), Stephanie Hurtado (Angel Cantu), Josue Rodriguez, Guillermo Rodriguez, III, Christopher Conner ((Bethany Hurtado), Tiffany Vargas (Hector Vargas), Juan Hurtado, IV, and Kasandra Montalvo (Michael Montalvo).

Ricardo was preceded in death by his father: Juan Hurtado, Jr. †; his brother: Javier Hurtado †; his grandparents: Juan Hurtado †, Ana Hurtado †, Rutilio Rodriguez †, and Anastacia Rodriguez †.

A visitation for Ricardo will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 pm in Chapel of Angels, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Angels, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.

Serving as pallbearers are: Jesus Albar Acevedo, Juan Hurtado, III, Ricardo Hurtado, Jr., Christopher Elijah Pintos, Josue Rodriguez and Guillermo Rodriguez, III.
